Reviews: Three More Comments on My First Book

IMG_1072-1

Prof. John Strong has kindly reviewed my first book on Review of Biblical Literature. If you have read my monograph entitled Mapping Judah’s Fate in Ezekiel’s Oracles against the Nations, you would know that I have cited and discussed his 1993 PhD dissertation entitled “Ezekiel’s Oracles against the Nations within the Context of His Message” [Note: I have a PDF copy of this dissertation, simply let me know if you need to read it]. We do share several disagreements about the types of message envisioned in Ezekiel 25–32, and I deeply appreciate the effort he took to review my monograph and to restate some of these disagreements. Even though there remain unresolved disputes, but he is right that there exist some areas of improvement for my first monograph. I hope that he would be able to witness some of these improvements in my forthcoming article entitled “The Tyrian King in MT and LXX Ezekiel 28:12b-15” 🙂 Above is the first page of his review. For the whole of his review, feel free to download it from my Academia.edu webpage~

Prof. Strong can rest assured that our academic squabbles do not place us as enemies of each other 😉 In response to his query, my book dedication to foes, friends, and family refers to some more personal incidents that happened during the writing of the book and were described in my previous blog posts:  “AD ASTRA PER ASPERA: Contextualizing My First Book Entitled Mapping Judah’s Fate in Ezekiel’s Oracles against the Nations” and “Speech: A Comparative Approach to My First Impressions of South Africa“.

Two other academic reviews I have received are from Dr. Tobias Häner in Review of Biblical Literature and from Dr. Johnny Miles in Biblical Interpretation. All of them can be downloaded from my Academia.edu webpage. I do appreciate all the valuable feedback~
